Former Arsenal and Valencia midfielder Edu has returned to Corinthians in Brazil - the club where he made his professional debut.

The player suffered a barrage of injuries during his time with los Che which did not allow him a proper chance of establishing himself in the starting line-up.

However, the 31-year-old has been offered a new lease of life by his former club, with the Brazilian side tying down their new number 22 until the winter of 2011 - according to Corinthians' official website.While financial details have not yet been officially disclosed, the local media have said that Edu will be the club's second highest paid player, behind former Player of the Year Ronaldo.
