Roman Abramovich has informed John Terry that he will not be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge. Terry met Chelsea officials yesterday to sort out his future, as rumours of a move to Manchester City heightened.
According to The Independent, Terry requested to be allowed to talk to City, but was swiftly denied by Abramovich. Manchester City are reportedly offering Terry a mammoth deal that will see him earn £280,000-a-week for four weeks, more than doubling his current salary.
Abramovich is willing to increase his wages to make him the highest paid player at the club, but the offer is still nowhere near City's proposal. Chelsea leave for their pre-season tour of America on Thursday, and Terry wants his future sorted out before then. The club have informed him that he is expected to join them on tour.
