Valencia To Fight To Keep David Villa From Barcelona - Report

Posted by Ahmed Ebrahim

El Mundo Deportivo states that Barcelona's attempt to land David Villa of Valencia has become that much harder following a meeting between Los Che's hierarchy and the star striker.Weeks ago Llorente stated that only a 'scandalously scandalous' offer would be able to provoke the Mestalla side into selling El Guaje, and this appears to have been the theme of the summit.

With Barcelona said to be offering no more than €40m for the Asturian hitman, Valencia are apparently seeking upwards of €50m from the Camp Nou outfit.Going even further than MD is Madrid-based sports daily AS. According to this source, Llorente allegedly told Villa he is a key member of the squad and is not willing to let go of him, having explained the club's financial project to the 27-year-old.Villa, on the other hand, told the president of his distress at the way Valencia have handled his situation, with the club having at the end of the season told him to find a new employer, only to classify him as "non-transferable" after talks with Real Madrid produced no result. It is believed that Villa once again reiterated his wish to move on, but Los Che appear keen to hang on to their prized striker.
